Sports physiotherapist London
Sports injuries Physiotherapy rehabilitation London
At Excellence Physiotherapy we can help you in the treatment and rehabilitation of your acute sport injury, or chronic condition, whether you are a professional athlete or a sports enthusiast.
For your sports injury treatment, we use a multidisciplinary approach, with a team including sports physiotherapists, fitness instructors and sports osteopaths. Each patient is evaluated individually to define their treatment and rehabilitative needs. This includes a thorough examination including a medical history, objective measures, and any necessary tests to determine the mechanical dysfunctions related to the injury. We treat our patients at home or during sport events in London or at the practice in Moorgate EC2 and Belgravia, Westminster SW1 or Clapham SW4 depending on your preference and your schedule.
If you are an Axa or Bupa patient, you cannot book online. Please call our office with your authorisation number.
If you cannot find an appointment which suits you or would like a home visit, call us or send us a message: we will do our best to find you a slot.
After the assessment, a treatment plan is developed in conjunction with the patient, in order to address all issues and functional limitations caused by the injury and help you achieve your goals and the highest functional level you can. A home exercise programme, which is carried out between sport physiotherapy sessions, is included in all plans in order to maintain the progress made during the sessions.
Our customised treatment plans often include:
- Assessment of alignment, function, strength, range of motion and flexibility
- Joint and soft tissue mobilisation to increase range of motion
- Modalities to increase tissue flexibility, decrease pain and swelling and promote healing
- Progressive strengthening and conditioning
- Consultation regarding bracing, taping and orthotics
Communication is vital for the treatment of sports injuries. Excellence physiotherapy ensures that there is regular communication between the sport physiotherapist, athletic trainer, and your physician. This communication is critical to ensure your treatment is advancing as planned and that all involved parties are helping you return to sport as quickly and safely as possible.
I addition to rehabilitation, our London sport physiotherapists can also work with you to improve your sports performance and help prevent injuries. We can teach you stretching sequences that you can perform as a warm up and cool down in order to condition your muscles and prevent injury and also help you improve balance and muscle coordination.
All treatments can be carried out at home or during sport events in London, by our multidisciplinary team of sports physiotherapists, fitness instructors, personal trainer and osteopaths or at either of the two Light Centre practices: London Wall near Moorgate station, in the heart of the City, or Belgravia, near Victoria station.
