orthopaedics_rheumatology_london_physiotherapy

Rheumatology diagnoses and treats conditions such as arthritis, bursitis and tendonitis or more important inflammation of joints and cartilage and soft tissues involving immune system reactions. Rest, physiotherapy or specific medications are prescribed in those cases. Physiotherapy will enable patients to achieve and maintain optimal function and independence.

If you are an Axa or Bupa patient, you cannot book online. Please call our office with your authorisation number.

If you cannot find an appointment which suits you or would like a home visit, call us or send us a message: we will do our best to find you a slot.

We treat a wide range of rheumatologic pathologies, including:

  • Anterior cruciate ligament repair
  • Total hip replacement
  • Total knee replacement
  • Rotator cuff repair
  • Shoulder, knee and hip arthroscopy
  • Spinal fusion and discectomy

We work very closely with the consultant doctor, ensuring each patient is assessed and treated on an individual basis in order to rehabilitate and regain independence. After an initial home visit in London or an assessment at the practice, where the extent of the problem is evaluated and data from medical reports is gathered, our London based physiotherapist will create an exercise program aiming at specific targets and adapted to the patient’s specific needs.

Physiotherapy treatments offered include:

  • Core stability training
  • Muscles strengthening
  • Functional mobility and transfer practice to ensure a seamless and safe discharge
  • Gait re-education and the use of walking aids
  • Posture analysis and re-education
  • Swelling management and pain management
  • Surgery specific exercise programmes
  • Appliance fitting

Apart from developing and executing the exercise programme, our London physiotherapist will also educate the patient on their condition so they can self-manage it long term and cope with every day activities. Our physiotherapist in London will also discuss goals with the patient to increase his independence and allow the patient to reach his optimum potential at home, work and in social activities.

Our London physiotherapists specialise in physiotherapy for rheumatology and can treat patients at home in London for those who don’t wish or can’t travel, or at either of the two Light Centre practices: London Wall near Moorgate station, in the heart of the City of London, or Belgravia, near Victoria station.

We are covered by most health insurances and are Bupa recognised and axa ppp recognised
